Market is open & Homegrown City Farm is back!
Hey there folks,
I hope you’re enjoying the first sunny day we’ve had in a while (ok, sure it rained for 20 minutes, but it’s sunny again!). Hopefully veggies get a chance to dry out over the next couple days.
Homegrown City Farms is back in town. They’ve got mixed zucchini & squash, pole beans, new red potatoes (in addition to those already on offer from Wild Dog Farm). We’ve also got basil and sage from Sweet Beet City Farm!
Also, we will have a special announcement on Facebook tomorrow about a new vendor!
New this week: Peppers! More Blueberries! (And a little baby)
I hope y’all had a great Independence Day weekend! Mine could hardly have been more eventful. I’m a dad now! I would feel remiss if I didn’t share a picture of my little rebel: link.
So we’ve got peppers coming in now as well as blueberries that started coming in before the holiday. Check ’em out!
Anyhow, the duties of a new father call. Thanks to everyone that is supporting a new economy. Our farmers are some of the smallest, best farms in and around Durham and your support means a lot to them.
Blueberries! Only 7 pints left! Stock up for July 4th!
Just a quick reminder that the market is open until 9AM tomorrow morning. Also, blueberries are available now from Wild Dog Farm!
Also, this is old news for some of you, but we have locally produced grain and hops for beer brewing available from Farm Boy Farms. Check them out if you or someone on your list is interested in locally grown, home crafted beer.
Finally, I’d like to announce that my wife and I are expecting our first child very soon. We’re due on July 2nd and next week’s market falls on July 4th, so I plan to take next week off. So if you anticipate needing any locally grown goodness for your celebrations, plan on stocking up this week.
See y’all Thursday!
Market open! New 10% referral program.
I hope you are all having a lovely weekend. We opened the market again for orders quietly yesterday and there are new items like cucumbers, in addition to all the beans, cukes, zukes, potatoes, and others that were added last week. We may also have some blueberries available, so if you place an order today, you might want to keep an eye out for email or Facebook or Twitter updates from us on Tuesday…
We would like to offer a 10% discount to anyone that refers a friend. To redeem, just place your order as usual and have a friend enter your name in the comments section on their first order. That friend will also get a 10% discount for trying out the service. Then I’ll subtract 10% from your total before your card is charged. (Note: If you refer more than one friend, I can give you 10% off on future orders, but no more than 10% off per week!)
With veggie love,

Happy Saturday! Ordering is open.
It’s been a busy day in Durham with the Tour de Fat bike parade and a big fun food truck rodeo. I hope some of y’all made it out to those awesome events in this awesome weather (both are still continuing in some fashion I believe until 4:30 or so).
Just a quick note that we have a new vendor, Milk & Honey, bringing in some tempting treats. Check out their website here. They have a couple treats available on the market which is open again after closing Wednesday and Thursday for market day.
Happy Father’s Day Weekend! We look forward to seeing you on Thursday!
Ordering Deadline Reminder
We have some exciting new products available for order this week. Check out the new Cylindra beets and Granex onions to enhance your tasty summer recipies!
I would like to remind all of you that you are able to place orders for this week until tomorrow morning at 8am. We have a cut off time in order to allow the vendors adequate time to gather all orders.
In other news, we have created a new Pinterest account for recipe and idea sharing. Follow http://pinterest.com/gomarket/ for fun updates.
Thank you so much for your participation and support in helping to grow our market! We really appreciate you!

Welcome to Gainey's Farm! (And welcome back Wild Dog Farm!)
Gainey’s farm just joined the market and is offering some warm weather goodies like zucchini, squash and green beans. And just in time for garlic from Wild Dog farm! And be sure to get some awesome greens from Homegrown City Farm and Sweet Beet City Farm before summer heat wipes out those goodies…
Cheers to Summer,
Market reminder! Orders due by 8am tomorrow, pickup Thursday 4:30-6:30
Thanks to those that have already ordered this week! This is just a quick reminder that the market is open for orders until ~8am tomorrow (for those night owls out there!)
I’d also like to thank those that have taken our survey so far! If you’re still waiting on something special at the market or are looking for any particular farms/offerings, I’d love to hear it! The happier y’all are as customers, the happier my farmers are! Here’s the survey:
I’ve had a couple requests for another reminder that market is open, so we now have one on the weekend and one on Tuesday. I’ll also send out a pickup reminder on Thursday morning for anyone that has placed an order.

Hey everyone, I asked for anonymous customer feedback in that last email and made the form so anonymous that I forgot the link!
